White Cheeked Barbet

White Cheeked Barbet is also called Small Green Barbet. It belongs to a species of barbet found in southern India. Like many other barbets of Asia, they are green in colour, sit still and perch upright making them difficult to spot. They feed mainly on fruits, though at times they may eat insects too. They use their beaks to excavate next cavities in trees. They are mainly found in the western ghats in India.
