Shikra is a small bird of prey belonging to the family of Accipitridae. It is widely distributed in Asia and Africa where it is also called as Little Branded Goshawk. They have short rounded wings and a long tail. Their calls are shrill, and often imitated by Drongos and their plumage resembles Common Hawk Cuckoos. Shikras are found in a range of habitats such as forests, farmland and urban areas.
