Indian Robin

Indian Robin belongs to a family named Muscicapidae.  It is widespread in Indian subcontinent as the name suggests. Its found across Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Bhutan and Sri Lanka. They are commonly found in open scrub areas.

The Indian Robin(Male) is mainly black in colour with white shoulder patch. The females are brownish. They are mostly found in dry habitats. They are resident birds and not migratory. They mostly feed on insects but sometimes may take even lizards and frogs.
